Quinta Do Lago Outdoor Cinema
During the summer there is an open air theatre on Quinta Do Lago Golf Course. The tourists will pay for a VIP area or golf buggy but locals know you can sit right next to these areas for free.
Just turn up with some deck chairs or picnic blanket and you are all set!
NOTE: If you go near any golf courses in the Algarve, always wear insect repellant!

Praia dos Três Irmãos
If you want to escape the usually tourist hot spots then locals head to this place near Alvor
Time it right, so the tide is out and you can walk through the caves to find hidden beaches which are nearly private.
There's also a hidden restaurant in the cliffs and the area is great for photographs.
